    Radio Kerry was established in 1990. The station headquarters are in Tralee, the county town of Kerry, with additional studios in Killarney and Cahersiveen. Due to the nature of a local radio station’s audience profile it is necessary to cater for a variety of programming tastes. A typical Radio Kerry listener is aged between 25 – 65 and their main information requirements are current affairs, local news, sports, music, specialist speech programming and weather. Their music interests are very varied. For this reason Radio Kerry broadcasts a number of special interest music programmes nightly.

    LMFM is an independent Local Radio station in Ireland. It is also the largest Local radio station outside of Dublin and Cork broadcasting to a population in excess of 300,000 adults. Media group UTV bought the station in a deal worth about €10 million in 2005. LMFM broadcasts on a number of frequencies, the main being either 95.8FM or 95.5FM. The station is licensed by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland to service both Counties Louth & Meath. The station also has a strong listenership in counties Dublin, Cavan, Monaghan and Armagh in Northern Ireland. Its 95.5 MHz transmitter is notable significantly outside its franchise area, in County Dublin.

A full-time licence to broadcast was granted in June 2006 and transmissions commenced on the 2nd September 2006. The station aims to reflect the diversity of cultures within our catchment area. We promote community development in all its aspects, with a combination of information, light programming, music and programmes of regional and local interest. It is intended that we cater for and reflect the new multicultural community in Claremorris. We aim to develop programmes and training that encourage disadvantaged groups to express their beliefs, values and needs for a better understanding within our community.
