Building a Better Tri-State Together

In the late 1950’s, the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation initiated the Southwestern Indiana Educational Television Project, and began producing educational programs at commercial station, WTVW. Later, in the 1960’s, EVSC obtained a license to operate its own station: WNIN. The station faced troubling times in the 1970’s, even going off air for a brief period of time. But through the help of donations, gifts, and fundraisers from various local supporters, WNIN was brought back to life; WNIN 88.3 FM went on-air in 1982, and two television channels were added in 1991.
